European networks

Since its inception, ICS is an active partner in most and important mouse functionnal genomics programms funded by the European commission. These large scale EU programs are covering :
- the generation of a collection of up to 13000 mutated genes in mouse C57BL/6N embryonic stem (ES) cells,
- using conditional gene trapping and gene targeting approaches: EUCOMM ( see EUCOMM genotyping strategy),
- primary phenotyping of 500 mouse mutant lines: EUMODIC
- and finally archiving (via cryopreservation) and distribution of relevant mutant strains essential for basic biomedical research: EMMA.

ICS is also a prime partner in Infrafrontier consortium which the aim is to organize two complementary and linked infrastructure networks for large-scale and comprehensive phenotyping and archiving of mouse models serving the European genetics and biomedical research community for the benefit of human health. Furthermore, ICS was/is involved in some European projects with a high impact of human public health (Eugene-2, EVGN, GENCODYS ...). ICS is providing there mouse biology expertise, as a animal model.
