12th FELASA / SECAL

Open in full size

On behalf of the Organising Committee I have great pleasure in inviting you to the 12th FELASA and 12th SECAL joint congress entitled: ‘Animal Research: Better Science from Fewer Animals’ to be held 10-13 June 2013 in Barcelona, Spain. The venue of the Congress is the Barcelona's International Convention Center (CCIB) located on Barcelona seafront.

FELASA (Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations) organises its congress every 3 years. On this occasion, SECAL (the Spanish Association of Laboratory Animal Science) has the privilege of organising the largest laboratory animal science meeting in Europe. It is a happy coincidence that for both organisations this will be their 12th congress.

The FELASA Congress will attract over a thousand scientists and other LAS professionals from all over the world. The programme will cover both scientific and practical aspects of a range of topics of interest for those working in this field. The perspective will be a focus on the end beneficiary of research and how we can provide all the necessary elements that will allow us to continue improving the welfare of both animals and people.

There will be state-of-the-art plenary presentations and your abstracts for oral presentations and posters are warmly welcome. The FELASA Congress is an excellent forum for the discussion of research and for finding solutions to our problems. In addition to scientific sessions, workshops and round table discussions will be included in the program.

ICS will attend the meeting.
