Targeted transgenesis consists on the introduction of a transgene in a well-characterized transcriptionally active locus such as ROSA26, Hprt or the 3' untranslated region of Col1a1 gene. This technique allows to control the number and site of transgene insertion and thus do not have the disadvantages of the pronuclear injection technology.

ICS expertise:

  • Availability of standardized cassettes to target specific transgene at the  ROSA26 locus in ES cells. Targeted transgenesis is particularly advised for conditional oversexpression of transgenes.
